Jailed Chilika MLA Prashant Jagdev Admitted To SCB Med College Hospital

Bhubaneswar: Chilika MLA and BJP’s candidate from Khordha assembly constituency, Prashant Jagdev was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Jagdev was transported from the Khurda jail to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack at around 4 am.

As per reports, he was admitted to the hospital as his health condition deteriorated in the jail. He is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Medicine ward of the hospital. Jagdev was arrested following a complaint filed by the presiding officer alleging that he “caused damage” to an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) during the third phase of polling held in Odisha on May 25.

The BJD filed a complaint with the chief electoral officer (CEO), demanding strict action against Jagdev. BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi termed the allegations baseless claiming that they were politically motivated.
