Justice After 27 Yrs, Accused of Baramunda Triple Murder Get Life Sentence

Bhubaneswar: It took about 27 years for the accused in the Baramunda triple murder case to get punished by the court of law.

On Friday, a court in Bhubaneswar pronounced its judgment in the sensational triple murder that had taken place in Baramunda in Bhubaneswar around 27 years back. The court convicted three persons in the case and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The fourth accused in the case has already died.

According to reports, Bhubaneswar ADJ court-2 convicted three accused – Chittaranjan, Rudranaryan, and Jitu – in connection with the murders.

As per the chargesheet, on July 11, 1996, Biswajit Nayak, Dillip B. Ray, and Sarada Rath were brutally hacked to death by four persons in Baramunda over past enmity.
