Karnataka Sculptor Yogiraj Arun’s Ram Lalla Chosen for Pran Pratistha at Ayodhya Ram Temple

Ayodhya: The Ram Lalla idol carved by sculptor Yogiraj Arun from Karnataka has been chosen to be consecrated in the garbhagriha of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on January 22.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi confirmed it on X on Monday, “Where Rama is, there is Hanuman, The selection of the idol for the Prana Pratishtapana of Lord Rama in Ayodhya has been finalised. A renowned sculptor of our country, our proud Mr

@yogiraj_arun, the idol of Lord Rama carved by him will be installed in Ayodhya.”

“This is another example of Rama-Hanuman’s inextricable relationship. There is no mistaking that this is an important service to Ramlallani from Karnataka, the land of Hanuman,” Joshi added.

Artisans Ganesh Bhatt, Arun Yogiraj and Satyanarayan Pandey constructed three Ram Lalla (baby Ram) idols in Ayodhya. The one constructed by Arun Yogiraj was selected for installation in the new Ram Janmabhoomi temple in January 2024.

Each of these three idols was carved out of a single stone behind closed doors at Ramsevakpuran in Ayodhya. The selected idol is 51-inch-tall sculpture reflecting a five-year-old–Ram Lalla.

The consecration ceremony will start on January 16. On the final day, January 22, the idol of Ram Lalla will be consecrated in ‘Mrigashira Nakshatra’ in the afternoon.
