Kerala Doctor Runs Spurious Liquor Racket, Arrested Along With 5 Others

Thiruvanathapuram: A 44-year-old doctor, who was heading a gang involved in the manufacturing of spurious liquor was arrested along with five others in Thrissur of Kerala.

The arrested allopathy physician Anoop was running the spurious liquor production unit behind a restaurant in Thrissur with the help of others. According to the excise officials, this unit had been operating at Peringottukara in Thrissur for some time. Acting on a tip-off, a team of excise officers conducted a surprise raid and nabbed the accused.

A total of 1,072 litres of spurious liquor, two cars and an air gun were seized during the raid.
