Lawrence Bishnoi Gang’s Chilling Warning to Salman Khan After Baba Siddique’s Murder

Mumbai: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Sunday claimed responsibility for the murder of former Maharashtra minister and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Baba Siddique.

The 66-year-old politician was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra East on Saturday night. The shooting occurred around 9:30 PM, with Siddique targeted by three assailants, according to the police.

A gang member’s Facebook post, which quickly went viral online, stated that Siddique was targeted due to his close ties with Bollywood actor Salman Khan and alleged connections to notorious underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim. The post also referenced Anuj Thapan, who was linked to a recent shooting incident outside Khan’s residence and later died by suicide in police custody.

In the post, the member expressed, “Om, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat,” and added, “I understand the essence of life, and consider wealth and the body as dust. I did only what was right, honouring the duty of friendship.”

The message continued, “Salman Khan, we did not want this war but you made our brother lose his life. Today the pool of decency of Baba Siddique is closed or at one time he was under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) with Dawood. The reason for his death was his links to Dawood and Anuj Thapan in Bollywood, politics and property dealings”.

The post also included a warning to Khan, asserting, “We have no personal enmity with anyone. However, anyone who helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should be prepared. If anyone gets any of our brothers killed, we will respond. We never strike first. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat, salute to the martyrs.”

Following the viral post, Mumbai Police announced they are verifying its authenticity.

Salman Khan has been the target of multiple threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang over the years. The latest threat surfaced in April when two men opened fire near his residence in Mumbai. In June 2022, Khan received a handwritten note warning him that he could meet the same fate as singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was murdered in May 2022, allegedly by the Bishnoi gang in Punjab.

In a 2023 interview, Lawrence Bishnoi addressed these threats, stating that Khan had disrespected the Bishnoi community by killing a blackbuck, a revered animal in their culture.
