Leaving France PM Modi Arrives in Abu Dhabi, UAE President Welcomes Him

Ending his two-day official visit to France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi on Saturday on a day-long visit to the UAE. He will meet UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance bilateral ties. He will also meet the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.

In a special gesture, the UAE president received PM Modi at the Abu Dhabi airport.

Energy, food security, and defence are expected to be the focus areas of PM Modi’s visit to the UAE.

The UAE is the third-largest trade partner and second-largest export destination of India. UAE’s FDI in India stands at USD 12 billion.

During his departure for this two-nation visit, PM Modi in a statement stated that India and UAE are engaged across a wide range of sectors such as trade, investments, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, defence, security, and robust people-to-people ties.

The Indian expatriate community constitutes around 30 per cent of the UAE’s population. As per 2021 data, around 3.5 Indian Nationals lived in UAE.
