Man Killed by Poachers’ Electric Trap Set for Wild Boars in Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: An electric trap set by poachers to kill wild boars claimed the life of a person at Semlia village under Rengali police station limits in Jharsuguda district on Thursday morning.

The deceased identified as Chabila Sah (48) was electrocuted to death when he accidentally came in contact with the live wire of the trap set for wild boar hunting near a pond at Semlia village.

He died on the spot. Police reached the spot to seize the body and start an investigation to nab the culprits behind the mishap.

The electric trap used by poachers to kill wild animals is a web of naked live wires which is usually illegally connected to high-voltage electricity supply cables.
