Man Shoots Dead Younger Brother at New Year Feast in Sundargarh Dist

Bhubaneswar: A man shot dead his younger brother at a New Year feast in the Bisra area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Monday.

The deceased identified as Surya Singh of Teterkela, was shot dead by his elder brother while he was at a New Year feast arranged by his friends. Surya and his friends had organized a New Year get-together and feast near Teterkela Square on Monday to celebrate the New Year.

All of a sudden Surya’s elder brother reached the spot and fired at him from close range. Long-standing family dispute is suspected to be the reason behind this murder.

The victim died on the spot. Police have seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. Four persons have been detained by police for interrogation in connection to the killing.
