Man Trying to Exchange Fake Notes at RBI Arrested in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A man was arrested by the Commissionerate Police on Friday in Bhubaneswar on charges of possessing fake currency notes. The accused was identified as Bikas Baliarsingh of Khurda. According to police sources, he was trying to exchange fake currency notes at the regional office of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in Bhubaneswar.

The accused had tried to dodge the RBI officials by claiming that he wanted to exchange some old notes. But through verification, the RBI officials detected that the currency notes deposited by the man were fake ones.

Receiving information, personnel of the Kharvel Nagar police station rushed to the spot and arrested the accused.

As per reports, at least 100 pieces of fake Rs 500 notes were seized from the possession of the accused.
