Manipur Horror: Two Women Paraded Naked on Road After Gang Rape

Imphal: Two women were paraded naked on a road by a group of men in Manipur. A video clip of the horrific incident is making rounds on social media. A tribal organization has alleged that these two women were gang-raped.

According to the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF), this incident occurred on May 4 in Kangpokpi district, some 35 km from the state capital Imphal. But police claim the incident happened in another district. But the FIR was filed in Kangpokpi.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has ordered the police to investigate this case in priority. Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani spoke to Manipur CM and the Chief Secretary regarding this horrific incident.

The ITLF said appealed to the National Commission for Women and the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes to take action.

The Manipur Police in a tweet on Thursday said they have filed a case of gang rape and murder.
