9 Killed, 10 Injured as Speeding Jaguar Rams Through Accident Site in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A speeding jaguar car rammed through a crowd at another accident site killing nine persons and injuring ten others in Ahmedabad of Gujarat on Thursday morning.

The deceased and the injured were in the crowd that had gathered at an accident site at the ISKCON bridge in Ahmedabad. A police constable and a home guard jawan were among those killed in the incident, they said.

The accident took place at around 1 am at ISKCON bridge on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway in the Satellite area of the city.

At around 1 am, a Thar (SUV) collided with a truck at ISKCON Bridge. Local traffic police and a home guard jawan reached the spot to manage the traffic and handle the situation. A crowd also gathered up at the place.

But all of a sudden a speeding Jaguar car rammed into the crowd, killing five people on the spot. Four others died during treatment. Ten people were injured.

The car driver, Tathya Patel, was also injured and admitted to a private hospital. He was thrashed by the angry crowd after the accident.

Most of the deceased and injured youth belonged to other cities and were living in Ahmedabad as paying guests.
