Masked Armed Dacoits Loot Rs 10 Lakh from Office of Mining Firm in Sundargarh

Rourkela: Unidentified armed miscreants looted around Rs 10 lakh worth of cash at gunpoint from the office of a mining firm in Tensa in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Thursday morning.

As per reports, five masked miscreants posed as drivers to enter the office of Gitarani Mohanty Mines in Raikela under the Tensa police outpost of Rourkela. They were armed with guns and axes.

Threatening and assaulting the employees present in the office, the armed looters took away cash worth over Rs 9.35 lakh in the mining firm’s office and escaped. The miscreants put the employees at gunpoint and threatened to kill them if they did not hand over the key to the locker.

Police on getting information reached the spot and started an investigation. It is suspected that some locals and persons linked to the mining firm may be involved in this armed heist. Police are scanning the CCTV footage to track down the accused.
