Rahul Gandhi’s Scathing Attack on PM Modi’s OBC Status During Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Making a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the third day of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Odisha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that the PM is a liar and doesn’t belong to OBC.

While addressing a public meeting in Jharsuguda district, he said, “PM Modi is lying to the country. He was not born OBC. He originally belonged to the general caste. In the year 2000, the BJP government in Gujarat included his caste in the OBC category.” “I don’t need any birth certificate to know if Modi belongs to OBC or not. He never hugs any OBC person. Modi will never conduct a caste census in the country. Only Congress will do it,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that PM Modi implemented GST and resorted to demonetization to help industrialists like Adani and to eliminate small businesses. According to him, employment is still out of reach of youths in Odisha and other parts of India.

“Social injustice is prevailing across the country. You will not find dalits or people from OBC at significant positions of government or private organizations,” the Congress leader said.

He poked at the PM’s lifestyle, saying, while the monthly salary of the Prime Minister is Rs 1.60 lakh, Modi wears multiple new suits worth lakhs of rupees, daily. Who are funding these expenditures, he asked.
