Naveen Patnaik, Amit Shah Share Dais to Inaugurate NH Projects in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Odisha Chief Minister shared the stage in Bhubaneswar on Saturday and inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) projects at a programme held at Loka Seva Bhawan.

The BJP leader and the BJD supremo were seen together at a time when political speculations are rife because of BJD’s support to the BJP-led government at the Centre on the Delhi Services Bill, which was passed in the Lok Sabha by virtue of a voice vote. The BJD has also declared to oppose the nonconfidence motion against the Modi government brought up by the INDIA bloc of Opposition parties.

Shah inaugurated the 51-kilometre-long 4-lane stretch on National Highway (NH) 53 connecting Kamkhyanagar and Duburi constructed at an expense of Rs 761 crore. It has two major bridges, seven minor bridges, seven underpasses, two animal underpasses, and 1.73 km long bypass.

The two leaders also laid foundation stone for widening and strengthening of Moter to Banner via Ladugaon Road of Kalahandi district.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallik, and senior NHAI officials were present during the ceremony.

Amit Shah arrived in Bhubaneswar on Friday night on a two-day Odisha visit.

He will also hold meetings to review Left Wing Extremism and Disaster Management with the Odisha government on Saturday.

Before leaving for Delhi, Shah will meet the newly appointed State office bearers of the BJP to discuss preparations for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections due in 2024.
