Needle Removed from Man’s Heart Through Rare Surgery in SCB Med College & Hospital in Cuttack

Cuttack: The doctors at the Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery department at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack saved the life of a patient by removing a needle from the heart of a patient by performing a rare surgery.

As per reports, 31-year-old Niwas Sharma from Bhubaneswar had a needle lodged in his heart. The 4.5 inch needle pierced his chest and got stuck in the left side of his heart leading to severe pain.

When he reached the SCB Medical College and Hospital, a three-member team of doctors led by the Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery Department Department HoD Manoj Patnaik performed the rare surgery to remove the needle from his heart.

The patient was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. He underwent surgery on Sunday. The 4.5-inch-long needle was successfully removed from the patient’s heart.

According to reports, the patient is recovering well after the surgery.
