Newly Married Couple Shot Dead in Haryana, Honour Killing Suspected

Chandigarh: A newly married young couple was shot dead by two assailants in Hansi of Hisar district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Tejvir Singh and Meena. They were sitting in Lala Hukamchand Jain park in the morning when the two armed assailants arrived on a motorcycle to shoot them down. The miscreants fled from the spot after committing the crime.

According to sources, the couple had married after eloping from their homes. They had got married two months ago in UP’s Ghaziabad.

According to sources, the woman’s family was against their relationship. So, it is suspected to be a case of honour killing. Tejvir worked at a private company in Noida.

The police are trying to identify the killers.
