Night Temp Plummets in Odisha, Colder Nights Ahead

Bhubaneswar: Winter chill has arrived in Odisha as the minimum temperatures (night temperatures) dropped to around 15°C in several parts of the state during the last 24 hours.

The temperature has reduced in Odisha because of the dry air flowing from the north-northwest direction.

Due to it the night temperature dropped by 2°C-3°C and the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has predicted that in next few days the nights will be colder. The dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of Odisha during the remaining days of the week and the minimum temperature may drop further by 2°C -4°C.

After December 15 both the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to rise across Odisha.

During past 24 hours the mercury plummeted to 7.2 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district, Keonjhar recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.4°C, while 17 places recorded nighttime temperatures of below 15°C. Daringibadi and Phulbani in Kandhamal district registered minimum temperatures of 9.5°C and 10°C respectively.

On Tuesday, the minimum temperatures recorded in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were 14.6°C and 14.5°C respectively.
