No Electricity at Raipur Stadium Hosting INDvsAUS T20I For Rs 3.16 Cr Unpaid Bills

Raipur: The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh stadium in Raipur is not having proper power supply for the past five years. This is the stadium where the fourth T20I match between India and Australia will be played. During Friday’s Y20I match, a generator will be used to power the floodlights.

According to NDTV, this stadium’s electricity connection was cut off five years back because of an unpaid of 3.16 crore. As per the request of the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association, a temporary power connection of 200 KV has been provided to the stadium, which is limited to the boxes and spectator gallery.

The stadium needs 1,000 KV power supply for the T20I match. Since the stadium’s power supply was severed in 2018, three international cricket matches have been held there. Generators were used for all these matches.
