Odisha BJP Expels Bijoy Mohapatra, 2 Other Leaders For Anti-Party Activities

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday expelled three prominent members, including senior leader Bijoy Mohapatra, for engaging in anti-party activities.

Alongside Mohapatra, the party has ousted state executive member Sarada Pradhan and Rakesh Mallick, vice president of the state BJP SC Morcha.

This disciplinary action comes following orders from state president Manmohan Samal, according to party insiders.

Notably, Mohapatra has been involved in campaigning for his son, Arvind, who is contesting the Assembly elections from Patkura on a BJD ticket. Despite his former ministerial status within the BJP, Mohapatra has thrown his weight behind his son’s candidacy, actively seeking votes for him.
