BJD Expels Sambalpur District Committee Advisor for Anti-Party Activities

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) took decisive action on Friday, expelling Pramod Rath, the Sambalpur District Committee Advisor, for engaging in anti-party activities.

BJD’s Organisational Secretary, Pranab Prakash Das, confirmed Rath’s immediate expulsion in a press communiqué.

Rath had scheduled a press conference to formally announce his resignation from the party, citing the state government’s alleged lack of commitment to establishing a permanent bench of the Orissa High Court in western Odisha. The party, however, expelled him before he could formally resign.
