Kolkata’s Indian Museum Receives Bomb Threat via Email

Kolkata: The Indian Museum in Kolkata received a bomb threat via email. As per the mail, bombs were planted inside the museum to blast on Friday morning.

As a precautionary measure, the entire museum was vacated, and an intense search operation was initiated by a bomb squad, sniffer dogs and senior officials of Kolkata Police to sanitize the heritage building.

This threat mail from a group called ‘Terrorizer’s 111’ was received by the Kolkata Police. Immediately a bomb squad was sent to the museum and entry of visitors was restricted till the whole museum was sanitized.

However police did not find any explosives or devices inside the museum.

As it is suspected that this was a hoax bomb threat, Kolkata police are trying to track down the location of the person who sent the threatening email.
