Odisha Civil Services 2021 Results Stay Lifted: OPSC to Reserve Seat for Divyang Candidate

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Thursday lifted the stay on the release of the Odisha Civil Services 2021 results. The decision came after hearing a petition from the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). Earlier, the High Court had placed an interim stay on the announcement of the results on July 21, following a petition from a divyang candidate, Satish Kumar Panigrahi.

To address the concerns raised by the OPSC about the impact on other candidates, the High Court modified its previous order. The court directed the OPSC to reserve a seat for the divyang candidate who had filed the petition. However, the commission is not allowed to make any appointment for this seat without seeking the court’s permission.

This development came after the OPSC filed an interim petition, stressing that the stay on the results would affect numerous other candidates. The High Court bench, presided by Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, rendered the verdict based on the OPSC’s petition. The commission’s representation in the case is led by senior advocate Pradipta Kumar Mohanty.

With the stay lifted, the results of the Odisha Civil Services 2021 exam are expected to be released soon, bringing clarity and resolution to the recruitment process.
