Odisha CM All Praises for Vikas Khanna for Unveiling Konark Wheel Replica in Times Square

Bhubaneswar: To mark India’s 77th Independence Day, celebrity chef Vikas Khanna unveiled a grand replica of the iconic Konark wheel in Times Square of New York.

Impressed by it Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his admiration.

“Congratulate entrepreneur and celebrity chef Vikas Khanna on unveiling a replica of the Konark Temple wheel at Times Square, New York on the occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day. Thank Mr Khanna for showcasing Odisha’s timeless sculpture before the world and appreciate the artists for the splendid craftsmanship,” Naveen Patnaik posted on X

Artisans from Odisha’s Lalitagitri have handcrafted this Konark wheel replica made of sandstone. It weighs around 4,000 pounds.

The replica of the Konark wheel is being displayed at Times Square as a symbol of unity between the Indian diaspora and America. Later it will be placed in Khanna’s upcoming New York City restaurant.
