Odisha Govt Warns About Fake News Regarding Closure of Schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government in a statement denied reports circulating on social media regarding the closure of schools till June 15 due to heat wave conditions in the state.

The Information and Public Relations department of the Odisha government in a post in X, said that a purported government notification on the closure of all government, aided and private schools due to the heat wave till June 15, has been doing the rounds on social media.

“The notification is fake and fabricated,” the statement added.

The department warned that creating false impression among the people through such fake posts is punishable under the law.
