Odisha Simmers in Heat from Morning, Talcher Records 37.4°C at 8.30 AM

Bhubaneswar: As all parts of Odisha continue to suffer severe heatwave, Talcher on Wednesday recorded the highest temperature in the state with 38.4 degrees at 8.30 am. At the same time, it was 37.4°C in Bhabanipatna and 36.4°C in Baripada.

The temperatures recorded at 8.30 am in places in Odisha on Wednesday:

Talcher: 38.4°C

Bhavanipatna 37.4°C

Baripada: 36.4°C

Balangir: 36.2°C

Titlagarh: 36°C

Balasore: 36°C

Hirakud: 35.6°C

Jharsuguda: 35.4°C

Keonjhar: 35.4°C

Cuttack: 35°C

Sambalpur: 35°C

Malkangiri: 35°C

Boudh: 35°C

Sonepur: 34.8°C

Bhubaneswar: 34.8°C

Rourkela: 34.6°C

The IMD has issued red alert for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack and Boudh districts.

Orange warning has been issued for Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Nuapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Khurda, Nayagarh and Malkangiri districts.

On Tuesday, a total of 16 places recorded temperature of 44 degrees or above in Odisha. Baripada reported all-time high of 46.4°C breaking the earlier record of 46.1° C on April 21, 2010.
