One Army Jawan Dies Another Injured in Landmine Blast near LoC in J&K

Srinagar: A jawan of the Indian Army died and another was injured in a landmine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday, reported India Today.

The incident took place at around 10:30 AM, about 300 metres from the Forward Defense Line (FDL) in the area of responsibility (AOR) of the 17th Sikh Light Battalion under the 80th Infantry Brigade.

The explosion of the landmine happened while two Army jawans were involved in routine patrolling along the LoC. Both injured soldiers were immediately airlifted to the command hospital in Udhampur. One of them succumbed to his injuries. The other is reported to be out of danger as he suffered non-fatal wounds.
