Parliament Staff to Don New Uniforms in New Parliament Building

New Delhi: The uniforms of the Parliament staff will change as they move to the new Parliament building next week for the special session.

Their new uniforms will have an ‘Indian’ touch. These uniforms have been designed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).

The bureaucrats will no longer wear bandhgala suit. They will wear a magenta or deep pink Nehru jacket instead. Their shirts will also be in a deep pink color with a lotus flower design. The employees will don khaki-colored pants.

The marshals in both houses will wear Manipuri turbans.

The security personnel at the New Parliament building will wear camouflage dresses, similar to the military, instead of safari suits.

This special session of the Parliament starts on September 18. The formal entry into the new Parliament building will be on September 19 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
