PM Modi Congratulates Muhammad Yunus on Taking Oath as Bangladesh’s Interim Govt Head

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his best wishes to Nobel laureate and microfinance pioneer Muhammad Yunus (84), who took oath as the head of the interim government in Bangladesh on Thursday evening.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “My best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus on the assumption of his new responsibilities. We hope for an early return to normalcy, ensuring the safety and protection of Hindus and all other minority communities. India remains committed to working with Bangladesh to fulfill the shared aspirations of both our peoples for peace, security and development.”

Following Sheikh Hasina’s resignation and escape from Bangladesh, there were several incidents of attacks on Hindus, their properties, and places of worship.
