WATCH: PM Modi, Giorgia Meloni’s “Melodi” Moment At G7 Takes Internet By Storm

Apulia: A video featuring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has taken social media by storm.

Captured on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Apulia, Italy, the viral photo, uploaded by Ms Meloni on Saturday, shows both leaders smiling warmly and waving at the camera as Ms Meloni cheerfully says, “Hello from the Melodi team,” a term that gained popularity following their bilateral meeting last year.

Sharing the video on X, Ms. Meloni wrote, “Hi friends, from #Melodi.”

In response, PM Modi tweeted, “Long live India-Italy friendship!”

This moment echoes their widely shared selfie from last year’s COP28 climate summit in Dubai, which Ms. Meloni had captioned, “Good friends at COP28. #Melodi.”

PM Modi arrived in Italy early Friday, invited by Ms Meloni to participate in the G7 Outreach summit, marking his first international trip since being re-elected for a third term.

During the summit, PM Modi and Ms Meloni engaged in talks to strengthen bilateral relations. Ms Meloni congratulated PM Modi on his election victory, and they reviewed the progress of the India-Italy Strategic Partnership.

The PMO noted their discussions on expanding trade, economic ties, and collaborations in clean energy, manufacturing, space, technology, telecom, AI, and critical minerals to build resilient supply chains. They also welcomed a recent MoU on Industrial Property Rights, facilitating cooperation on patents, designs, and trademarks.

Furthermore, both leaders discussed enhancing bilateral defence and security cooperation, aiming to bolster defence-industrial collaboration.
