PM Modi Lays Foundation for 3 Semiconductor Manufacturing Facilities Worth ₹1.25 Lakh Cr

Dholera (Gujarat): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation for three semiconductor facilities collectively worth Rs 1.25 lakh crore, distributed across Gujarat and Assam. During a virtual address that followed, PM Modi emphasized India’s commitment to becoming a global semiconductor manufacturing hub.

PM Modi hailed the occasion as historic, marking a significant stride towards a promising future. He underscored the importance of ‘Made in India’ semiconductor chips in fostering self-reliance and technological advancement.

Highlighting India’s capability to deliver on commitments, PM Modi reiterated the government’s dedication to realizing the semiconductor manufacturing vision. He contrasted this with past instances where promises were marred by corruption scandals and inadequate investment in crucial sectors.

The newly launched projects encompass India’s inaugural Fab facility in Dholera, Gujarat, alongside Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) units in Sanand, Gujarat, and Morigaon, Assam. This initiative is poised to bolster India’s position in the global semiconductor landscape, driving economic growth and technological innovation.
