Prof. Sukumar Mishra from Odisha to Head IIT-Dhanbad

Bhubaneswar: Prof. (Dr.) Sukumar Mishra from Odisha has been appointed as the Director of IIT-Dhanbad.

His name was in the list of new directors to six IITs declared by the Union Ministry of Education on Thursday.

According to the notification, Manindra Agrawal, Sukumar Mishra, Avinash Agarwal, Devendra Jalihal, Dhirendra S Katti and Amit Patra were given charge as directors at IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Dhanbad, IIT-Jodhpur, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Goa and IIT-BHU, respectively.

Mishra was earlier a professor in the electrical engineering department at IIT-Delhi.

He received his M.Tech and Phd in Electrical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela in 1992 and 2000, respectively.
