Rahul Gandhi Files Nomination for Raebareli LS Seat in the Presence of Sonia, Priyanka

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi filed nomination papers for the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh on Friday.

He was accompanied by his mother Sonia Gandhi, sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra, when he submitted his nomination papers at the district magistrate’s office.

The Congress on Friday declared Kishori Lal Sharma for the Amethi seat.

Rae Bareli is considered one of the safest seats for the Congress as its candidates have won from here 17 times out of 20 elections it has witnessed so far.

This seat has been represented by Rahul Gandhi’s grandfather and Indira Gandhi’s husband, Feroze Gandhi. This has elected Sonia Gandhi in 2014 and 2019.

In Raebareli, Rahul Gandhi is pitted against the BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh.
