Retired Army Jawan Turned Lashkar Terrorist Arrested in Delhi

Delhi: Riyaz Ahmed, a retired Army soldier who is a member of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was arrested by Delhi police from the New Delhi Railway Station.

He was arrested on February 4 following the busting of a LeT terror module by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Kupwara district.

According to police sources, Ahmed along with two other individuals – Khursheed Ahmad Rather and Ghulam Sarwar Rather – was coordinating with handlers across the Line of Control (LoC) to receive weapons and ammunition for terror activities in India.

“The accused, Riyaz Ahmed, was a retired army personnel and was actively involved in hatching a conspiracy along with his associates to receive arms and ammunition from across the LoC by the terrorist handlers of LeT for carrying out subversive activities in J&K,” the Delhi Police said in a statement.
