8 Killed, 60 Injured in Series Blasts at Firecracker Factory in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: At least eight persons died and 60 others were injured when fire broke out inside a firecracker factory leading to a series of blasts in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda.

According to a factory worker, who managed to escape, about 150 workers were on the premises when the incident took place.

The explosions created panic in the area. According to the authorities involved in the rescue operations, some of the injured are in critical condition.

The intensity of the blasts caused tremors in the adjoining Seoni Malwa area in Narmadapuram district.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in a post on X, said that Minister Uday Pratap Singh and senior officials are on their way to Harda. Medical colleges in Bhopal and Indore have been asked to prep for patients with burns, he said, adding that more fire engines are being rushed to the spot.

Fire engines are at the spot to bring the flames under control. The district administration has sought the support of the National Disaster Response Force.
