RI nabbed While Accepting Rs 6000 Bribe in Jagatsinghpur District

Jagatsinghpur: Nrusingha Charan Rout, the Revenue Inspector (RI) of Goda and in-charge RI of Padmapur under Ersama Tahasil in Jagatsinghpur district, was caught red-handed by vigilance sleuths while he was accepting Rs 6,000 bribe from a complainant.

He had demanded this bribe to submit an inquiry report in favour of the complainant in a mutation case. The entire marked-up bribe money was recovered from the possession of the erring RI.

Simultaneous searches were also initiated at two locations related to Rout to explore the disproportionate assets (DA) angle.

A case was registered against Rout at the Cuttack Vigilance police station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption, Amendment, Act, 2018.
