New Delhi: Sharad Pawar approached the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Election Commission that recognized the faction led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar as the real Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Sharad Pawar filed the petition through lawyer Abhishek Jebaraj on Monday evening.
Earlier, the Ajit Pawar faction had filed a caveat to ensure that no ex-parte order is passed in favour of the Sharad Pawar group if the latter approached the Supreme Court.
The Election Commission on February 6 declared the Ajit Pawar faction as the real NCP and also allotted it the NCP symbol ‘clock’.
