6 Officials Suspended After Driverless Goods Train Travels Over 70 Km in J&K’s Kathua

Kathua (J&K): Six railway officials have been suspended following a dramatic incident on Sunday where a goods train at Kathua station began moving without a driver and travelled over 70 kilometres before coming to a halt in Punjab.

DRM Ferozepur Sanjay Sahu confirmed the suspensions, which included the station master, traffic master, and point man of Kathua station, as well as the loco pilot, assistant loco pilot, and loco inspector of the train.

According to Sahu, the engine was not started, and the train began rolling due to the downward slope at the station. Fortunately, no injuries or damage were reported.
