Stray Leopard Roaming in Bengaluru Shot Dead During Capture Attempt

Bengaluru: The stray wild leopard that was moving around the streets of Bengaluru for the past few days died during treatment on Wednesday.

The leopard was injured when shots were fired to neutralise it after it injured a forest official. The injured leopard was being treated at a veterinary hospital where it died of injuries.

An intensive search operation led to the capture of the leopard at the Kudlu gate area of Bengaluru.

The wild big cat was first spotted on Saturday night in the Singasandra area near Electronic City in Bengaluru. CCTV footage showed the leopard being chased by two stray dogs.

On October 29, the leopard was seen entering an apartment in Kudlu.

It is suspected that the leopard strayed into Bengaluru from Bannerghatta National Park.
