Swami Prasad Maurya Resigns from Samajwadi Party, Floats Own Outfit

Lucknow: Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from the primary membership of the Samajwadi Party on Tuesday. A day back he announced his plans to float a new political outfit.

Swami also resigned from the membership of the State Legislative Council as an SP member with immediate effect.

Swami’s daughter Dr Sanghamitra Maurya is BJP MP from Badaun.

Swami on Monday launched a new political outfit named Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party. He will hold a rally of his new outfit at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium on February 22.

In the past Swami was in the news for criticising Sanatan Dharma and Ramcharitmanas, for which cases were lodged against him in different police stations of UP.
