T20 World Cup 2024, USA vs IND: India Win Toss, Opt To Bowl First; Check Playing XIs

New York: India, boasting two convincing victories to start their T20 World Cup campaign, will set their sights on a hat-trick of wins when they meet co-hosts USA on Wednesday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

India started their campaign impressively with an eight-wicket win over Ireland, followed by a thrilling six-run victory against Pakistan. However, concerns arose as they faced a dramatic collapse against Pakistan, with their middle order faltering.

Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja all got dismissed cheaply, exposing India’s batting vulnerabilities. Even star batter Virat Kohli faced his second consecutive failure.

In contrast, the USA enter the match with confidence, having secured clinical victories against Canada and Pakistan. They chased down their highest-ever target of 195 against Canada and stunned Pakistan in the super-over.

This will be the first-ever encounter between the USA and India. The pitch at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium has been challenging for batters, with low-scoring games being the norm. Teams batting second have had an advantage.

With the top two teams of Group A facing off, the match promises excitement. Additionally, Pakistan will closely watch the outcome as it impacts their Super 8 qualification hopes.
