Tata Group Will Establish Electric Vehicle Battery Plant in UK

India’s Tata Group will establish an electric vehicle battery plant in Britain. Tata Company and the British government declared it on Wednesday.

The Tata Group will invest around GBP 4 billion (Rs. 32,800 crore) in this EV battery factory.

“Tata Group’s multi-billion-pound investment in a new battery factory in the UK is a testament to the strength of our car manufacturing industry and its skilled workers,” British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said in the statement.

According to the government of Britain, this Electric Vehicle battery factory would provide direct employment to around 4,000 jobs, with further jobs expected to be created in the supply chain.

Through this battery plant, Britain will catch up in the global race to build electric vehicle (EV) battery capacity locally.

The BBC in a report said the British government will provide subsidies worth hundreds of millions of pounds to Tata.
