‘The Fable’ Starring Manoj Bajpayee to Compete in Berlin International Film Festival

Mumbai: Manoj Bajpayee’s film The Fable, directed by Raam Reddy, will have its world premiere at the upcoming 74th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival to compete in the Encounters segment.

It will have an evening premiere on the opening day February 15. The Berlin International Film Festival will conclude on February 25.

‘The Fable’ also has Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose and Tillotama Shome, along with debutant Hiral Sidhu and child actor Awan Pookot.

‘The Fable’ is a collaboration of the US and India. It is the only Indian entry to compete in the Encounters segment at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival.

The last Indian film to participate in the Encounters Competition segment was The Shepherdess and The Seven Songs by Pushpendra Singh in 2020. Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s Shelter of the Wings was the last Indian film to have featured in the Main Competition category in 1994.

Films such as The Adamant Girl, In the Belly of a Tiger, O Seeker, Remote Occlusions and Two Refusals will be featured in the Forum segment of the Film Festival.

Short films like Sour Candy and The Girl Who Lived in the Loo will also be part of the festival.
