Toxic Gas Leak in Gujarat Chemical Factory, 28 Hospitalized

Ahmedabad: A toxic gas leaked in a chemical factory near Jambusar in Gujarat’s Bharuch district on Wednesday.  At least 28 people were hospitalized after inhaling the gas.

The affected people suffered breathing problems after they inhaled bromine gas. The toxic gas leaked due to a fire that broke out in a tank at PI Industries in Sarod village.

Around 2,000 workers were present in the factory when the gas leakage was reported on Wednesday afternoon. All workers were evacuated safely.
