Two Trucks Hit Picnic Bus Injuring 40 in Dhenkanal District

Dhenkanal: Around 40 persons were injured as two trucks hit a picnic bus at Bhejia Square under Mahaveer Road police station limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Thursday morning. Five including a truck driver were seriously injured.

The ill-fated picnic bus was returning to Chandikhol from Sambalpur when the accident occurred.

At first, a speeding truck hit the bus at Bhejia square. A few moments later another speeding truck collided with the same bus. Both collisions damaged the bus severely.

Receiving information, police rushed to the spot of the accident and rescued the victims with the help of locals.

The injured were admitted to a hospital at Mandapala in Talcher.
