Two Youths Drown in Birupa River in Cuttack District

Cuttack: While taking baths two youths drowned in the Birupa river in the Choudwar area of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Krushna Chandra Sahu and Mayank Sahu of Khurdasahi under the Choudwar police station in the district.

While they were bathing in the river in the evening, they were caught in a strong current of the river. Hearing their shouts for help, locals fished them out of the water in unconscious state.

Personnel of the Choudwar police station rushed the two youths to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. But the doctors declared both of them dead on arrival.

The police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
