Ujjain 12-Yr-Old Rape, Auto Driver Arrested, 3 taken Into Custody

Ujjain: After the visuals of a 12-year-old raped bleeding and asking for help on street in Madhya Pradesh’s holy city of Ujjain went viral, police arrested an auto driver and detained three others in relation to the case.

The victim walked an 8 km stretch pleading for help. CCTV footage showed the minor girl walking on foot asking for help at different places.

The arrested auto driver was identified as 38-year-old Rakesh.

As per police investigation, the victim had boarded an auto at Jeevan Kheri. Blood stains were found on the auto and a forensic examination of the auto was underway.

A missing report for the minor girl was filed a day in Satna area before the incident came to light. The girl met five people at different locations, who are being interrogated by the police. One of the three others detained in the case was also an auto driver.

The injured 12-year-old girl, who was raped, was operated upon by a team of specialist doctors and her condition is critical but stable.

MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that a special investigation team (SIT) has been formed to probe the shocking crime.
