UP Man Arrested for Booking Cab in Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s Name, Sending it to Salman Khan’s House

Mumbai: A man from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh was arrested for allegedly booking a cab in the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and sending it to Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house in the Bandra area of Mumbai.

The accused Rohit Tyagi claimed that he resorted to the act as a prank.

According to Mumbai police sources, Rohit booked a cab online on Wednesday for a journey from Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, where Salman Khan resides in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

When the cab driver reached the address, he found that it was a prank. The irritated cab driver lodged a complaint with the Bandra police.

Bandra police registered a case and arrested Rohit from Ghaziabad under IPC sections 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 290 (public nuisance). A court has remanded him in police custody.

Last Sunday, a bike-borne man fired at Khan’s residence. The alleged shooter and his accomplice have been arrested. Police are investigating the role of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the incident as recently Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the attack in a post on a Facebook account created in the name of Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of the jailed gangster.
