Veteran Leader Damodar Rout Critical, Admitted to Hospital

Bhubaneswar: Veteran political leader and former state minister Damodar Rout was admitted to hospital in critical condition. He is almost brain dead, informed his son and MLA Sambit Routray on Thursday.

According to his son and MLA Sambit Routray, his father and senior BJD leader suffered a cardiac arrest on March 18. Initially, the family rushed the veteran leader to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar at around 3 pm on that day and later he was shifted to a private hospital.

Speaking to the media Sambit alleged that the doctors at the Capital Hospital delayed in giving CPR to Damodar Rout, as a result, his brain suffered damage. As per reports, Damodar Rout was given CPR at the private hospital but his brain is not functioning. According to Sambit, the condition of his father is very critical.
