Villagers Thrash 2 Looters to Death in Bargarh District

Bargarh: Villagers took the law into their own hands and beat up two alleged robbers to death on Tuesday when the accused were caught red-handed at Sahutikra under Bargarh Rural police station limits.

According to locals, on Tuesday afternoon, four miscreants attempted to rob some passersby. The alert villagers managed to nab three of them while the fourth one managed to escape.

As similar loot cases were happening in the area regularly in the recent past, the angry villagers thrashed the nabbed persons ruthlessly before handing them over to police.

The three miscreants were seriously injured. Police reached the spot and rescued the injured looters, who were admitted to the Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital, where two of them were declared brought dead.

The deceased were identified as Bijay Bag of Pandaripathara village under Bargarh Sadar block and Biju Jal of Sambalpur.

The other injured miscreant, Surath Karmi of Pandaripathara, is fighting for life VIMSAR in Burla.
