Police SI Caught Red-Handed While Accepting Rs 15k Bribe Through PhonePe

Boudh: Vigilance officials nabbed a police Sub-Inspector Bikram Dehuri posted at Baunsuni police station of Boudh district on Wednesday, while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 to release a seized vehicle.

According to the complainant, the police SI was not releasing his seized vehicle despite the court order and demanded a bribe to release it.

The erring SI was caught red-handed in a trap laid by the vigilance sleuths. The sub-inspector was receiving the bribe through PhonePe.

Following his arrest, vigilance officials searched Dehuri’s office room, his government residence and a residential building owned by him in Purunakatak of the district.
